Scratch – Hip-Hop DJ Movement Documentary
This 2001 documentary, directed by Doug Pray, tells you the story of the Hip-Hop DJ movement. Contributions from absolute legends of the culture like DJ Premier, Grand Wizzard Theodore, DJ Craze, Afrika Bambaataa & DJ Jazzy Jay explain the techniques and meaning behind the art. The film features excellent vintage footage from Hip-Hop’s earlier days, and does well to transfer the feeling of those times to the viewer. “Scratch“ also gives you a chance to see amazing turntablism from some of the greatest to ever do it.
