When this album came out in 2006. I was like “Why?” To be honest I was a lil bit disappointed in DJ Premier for working on a pop mainstream album. Just as a reminder I was 16 years old younger than I am now and I was that underground hip-hop head who refused to listen to anything related to pop music… but at one moment I decided to press play and…I loved it. DJ Premier and Christina Aguilera together in the studio is pure magic. You may call Back To Basics album that pure quality and in 2023. I am calling this album a classic.
