Wu-Tang Clan have recorded a new album titled Once Upon A Time In Shaolin over the last few years in secret and they plan to sell just one copy of it. The one-of-a-kind launch will be a separate release from the group’s 20th anniversary album, A Better Tomorrow which is set to drop this Summer.

The double disc box was handcrafted over the course of three months by British-Moroccan artist Yahya. In an interview with Forbes, RZA said:

We’re about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of [modern] music. We’re making a single-sale collector’s item. This is like somebody having the scepter of an Egyptian king. The idea that music is art has been something we advocated for years. And yet its doesn’t receive the same treatment as art in the sense of the value of what it is, especially nowadays when it’s been devalued and diminished to almost the point that it has to be given away for free.

Members of the group along with album’s main producer Cilvaringz plan to tour through museums, galleries and festivals with the album which will have a cost to attend for the visitors, likely in the $30-$50 range. Once it completes the excursion, Wu-Tang will sell the album for millions.
