Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar win won’t be the only thing going viral today. A few hours ago, “rapducer” Crank Lucas uploaded a short video on YouTube illustrating the evolution of hip-hop. The visual starts off with Lucas imitating the straightforward, old-fashioned style of ’80s rappers like Melle Mel and Kurtis Blow. It then proceeds to ’90s’ boom-bap gangsta rap (Mobb Deep, 2Pac), ’00s Southern rap (Dem Franchize Boyz, D4L) and finally, the auto-tuned, indecipherable triplet flow of the ’10s (Future and Young Thug.) Watch the video above and let us know which era you vibe with the most.
