Rest In Peace Phife Dawg (A Tribe Called Quest)

Today is a truly sad and surreal day for Hip-Hop. When I heard about it few hours ago I couldn’t believe it and I still can’t… The harsh reality is that we lost a legend, a great person, a huge sports fan, a great lyricist and a brilliant emcee, the funky diabetic and the very dear Malik Isaac Taylor aka Phife Dawg, who we all remember with joy as he was a highly influental Hip-Hop figure and a member of the immortal Hip-Hop group A Tribe Called Quest.

He was also known as the “Five Foot Assassin” and “The Five Footer”. His only solo release was Ventilation: Da LP in 2000, but last year he revealed plans to release Nutshell, prod. by J Dilla, as the first single off a planned Give Thanks EP he had in mind.

Phife was also busy with Muttymorphosis, his new LP he planned to release later this year that would serve as his life story…

Blackout crew sends their deepest heartfelt condolences to Phife‘s family and friends.

You will always be remembered our brother.

Rest In Eternal Peace (November 20, 1970 – March 23, 2016)
