Organized Konfusion Celebrate 35 Years With “Fudge Pudge” Remix Video
Among the most influential hip-hop artists to emerge in the rapid creative expansion of the early 1990s, Queens duo Organized Konfusion helped reshape rap’s aesthetic horizons with the 1991 release of a groundbreaking self-titled album. An exhilarating whirlwind of lyrical ingenuity, the album introduced the immense talent of Pharoahe Monch and Prince Po and laid the foundation for what would become known as underground hip-hop. This week marks the 35th anniversary of Organized Konfusion’s release, and Nature Sounds is celebrating with a remix video for the group’s classic single “Fudge Pudge”.
Highlighting a rare alternate version of the song and repurposing footage from the original music video, this visual remix is the work of famed animator RUFFMERCY, who has crafted videos for Nas, Nirvana, Run The Jewels, Mac Miller, Thom Yorke, Earl Sweatshirt, and more. The “Fudge Pudge” remix is among three bonus tracks included on the 35th Anniversary Edition reissue of Organized Konfusion, which hits stores today on vinyl, CD, and cassette. Giving a long-overdue spotlight to one of hip-hop’s most important albums, this marks the first official vinyl release since 1991 and the first ever 2LP pressing, capturing the album’s full sound quality. A limited colored vinyl edition is also available.
