DJ Ready Red of Geto Boys Passed Away

DJ Ready Red, a founding member of the Geto Boys, has passed away. Willie D reported that the accomplished producer and DJ suffered a fatal heart attack yesterda (August 24).

DJ Ready Red, born Collins Leysath, was with the group in its 80s debut and stayed with the Rap-A-Lot Records flagship act until the early 1990s. Red provided the sound for Geto Boys‘ Making Trouble in 1988, Grip It! On That Other Level one year later and The Geto Boys in 1990, as well as Willie D‘s debut Controversy.
