Digital Underground’s Shock G Passed Away

The Hip Hop community was struck with another hard blow while we are all still mourning the deaths of DMX & Black Rob. Yesterday producer and Digital Underground co-founder Chopmaster J revealed that his crew member and fellow co-founder Shock G has passed away. Shock G was 57 years old and the cause of death hasn’t been revealed, yet.

Shock G contributed to Digital Underground‘s successful US Top 100 albums Sex Packets, Sons of the P & The Body-Hat Syndrome, including the hit record Humpty Hump and introducing 2Pac to the music world. Pac was a member of the Digital Underground crew when he appeared on the group’s song, Same Song. Shock was one of the producers on 2Pac‘s debut solo album, 2Pacalypse Now and was featured on Pac‘s 1993 song I Get Around.

BlackoutHipHop extends condolences to Shock G‘s friends, fans, and family.
