Inside Adrian Younge’s Analog Paradise

Adrian Younge is one of the last true analog purists in music. The co-founder of Jazz Is Dead has made recording to tape and pressing to vinyl with all analog equipment is part of his philosophy. Every piece of gear serves a purpose. Every decision serves the music.

Following VinylCon 2026, Younge opened the doors to Linear Labs for an exclusive studio tour — showcasing vintage gear including a Korg ARP Odyssey, Sparkle Top Fender Rhodes, Steiner EVI, an RCA Tube Mixing Console from the 1950s, a Neve 5088, and an in-house lathe cutter.

As Younge puts it:

“I make music for vinyl.”
