Wu-Tang Clan On The Stoop (1993)

There have been examples of ambitious independent moves in Hip Hop history, but none are as memorable to me as Wu Tang Clan’s industry breakthrough. The circulation of their self-distributed debut single and videos “Protect Ya Neck” and “Method Man” took on a life of it’s own in 1993, gaining momentum with time as true Hip Hop fans took notice of the crew’s potential despite their limited resources. I always look at this part of their career as a very inspirational one, it shows you how to use whatever resources you have at your disposal to build upon a legacy of your own.
