The rapper-turned-actor has announced plans for a reboot of <em>The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air<\/em>. According to TVLine, <strong>Smith\u2019s<\/strong> production company <strong>Overbrook Entertainment<\/strong> is working on a remake of the classic \u201990s sitcom for modern times, which is to say, the same old fish-out-of-water concept, but with smart phones.<\/p>\n<p>A pitch is currently being finalized and <strong>Overbrook<\/strong> will begin shopping it around in the weeks ahead. <strong>Smith<\/strong> would serve as executive producer alongside his  <strong>Overbrook<\/strong> producing partners <strong>James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett<\/strong>, and <strong>Jada Pinkett-Smith<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During the <strong>Television Critics Association<\/strong> summer press tour on Thursday (Aug. 13), <strong>NBC Entertainment<\/strong> Chairman <strong>Robert Greenblatt<\/strong> said that he\u2019d \u201cbe happy to talk to <strong>Will [Smith]<\/strong> about it,\u201d although the network has not signed on for anything.<\/p>\n<p>The original <em>Fresh Prince<\/em> ran for six seasons on NBC from 1990-1996.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Will Smith is going back to Bel-Air.
