The surprise plea spared  Lil Wayne who is out on bail a possible 3 1\/2-to-7-year prison sentence. The rapper&#8217;s DNA was found on the gun, which strengthened the case for the prosecution. Lil Wayne&#8217;s lawyer however complained that prosecutors used faulty forensics in linking him to the gun.
