\u201c[He\u2019s] a good friend of mine,\u201d Rae said when asked how Lo landed the role . \u201cWhen I called him and told him about it he was just overwhelmed. He\u2019s just one out of the greats that\u2019s gonna be on the project.\u201d<\/p>\n
When XXL last spoke to Rae, he was considering Chuck Inglish of The Cool Kids to play his younger self. The actor for that role hasn\u2019t been picked.<\/p>\n
\u201cChuck of The Cool Kids, that\u2019s my dude, good dude, but he\u2019s still gotta go in for casting purposes to see if he really could make a debut in a great way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Asked whether he expects the film to be in theaters or a straight-to-DVD release, Rae divulged that he\u2019s already in talks with a leading independent movie studio about the project.<\/p>\n
