Despite being one of hip-hop\u2019s most in-demand producers, !llmind has never before released an official album of his own. The New Jersey native, who has provided soundscapes for hip-hop royalty like 50 Cent, Eminem, Little Brother, Redman, 2pac, and Scarface, will team up with Nature Sounds on April 21st to release his first instrumental project, Beh!nd The Curta!n. To give fans a true look “behind the curtain,” !llmind will also be releasing the album\u2019s audio stems (drums parts, bass parts, horns parts, etc.) through a download card in the first 1000 CDs and through his Bandcamp page.<\/p>\n

While hip-hop producers are known to operate in secrecy, !llmind hopes to inspire the next generation of track masters. \u201cThe purpose of the album is to showcase the love that I have for unique and innovative ways to put together beats,” he explains. “There are different techniques I’ve learned throughout the years, and I’m hoping production fans take notice! I know my fellow producers will have fun with the stems.” To celebrate the album, !llmind is also launching a new remix contest. Using the stems to the BTC track “Next Round”, producers are challenged to make the best (and most original) beat using ONLY THOSE SOUNDS.
