During hip-hop\u2019s mid-nineties golden era, movie soundtracks were far more than casual promotional add-ons \u2014 they functioned as essential cultural documents, capturing the pulse of the culture and delivering top-shelf exclusive cuts. Exactly thirty years ago, on August 19, 1996<\/strong>, Big Beat and Atlantic Records<\/strong> delivered the official soundtrack to the comedy High School High<\/strong><\/a>. While the Hart Bochner<\/strong><\/a>-directed film was a lighthearted spoof of urban classroom dramas, the soundtrack itself was a remarkably curated masterpiece that still demands respect today.<\/p>\n

Executive producers Craig Kallman, Jolene Cherry, and Tim Sexton<\/strong> understood the assignment.
