Damien Matthias<\/strong>, better known as E-Love<\/strong>, has passed away. A significant behind-the-scenes presence, he was a multi-platinum, award-winning writer, producer, and director. Projects he contributed to sold over 35 million records. In 2021, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

E-Love was best known for his close ties to Def Jam Records<\/em>\u00a0and his role in the rise of\u00a0LL Cool J<\/strong>, one of the label\u2019s earliest stars. He made his producer debut in 1985 as a co-producer for LL\u2019s landmark debut “Radio” and later contributed to the artist’s mainstream success. He appears in several of LL Cool J’s videos, including the one for his 1987 classic, “I’m Bad.” E-Love also helped launch the careers of other influential artists, such as Tupac Shakur<\/strong> and John Fort\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
