After the heavy promotion of the upcoming album throughout the last year, especially with the all-out banger “LABIA Y MIEL”<\/em>, the Spanish-born MC Lil Aiden<\/strong> finally got out with her second studio project called “COCO”<\/em>. <\/p>\n Apart of the mentioned single, most of the album flows in a more laid-back and somewhat dark fashion, largely influenced by the old school sound, but with a few tracks she’s closer to modern styles to fit her need of a wide expression. As presented, the album is a raw and complex introduction to her and her intimate stories; topics about the state of mind of oneself, varied by the hope, disappointment, anger, sadness, and how she handles all of those trials and tribulations within the existential vision. Like in the track “Perdonar”<\/em> in which Lil Aiden<\/strong> fights through the anger – the center of the caused pain – she’s trying to get away from it which, as a track, symbolically shows the turns in life she took. The song as such defines the very album and sets its tone as it sends a message of not holding on to things that hurt us from within, but to focus on your well-being.<\/p>\n There’s a lot of presented lyrical methodology as well, mainly influenced by the likes of Little Simz<\/strong> and Mac Miller<\/strong>, and therefore, both old school heads and lovers of more modern rap-based genres can get a taste here. Even if there’s a language barrier, Lil Aiden<\/strong> provides a lovely varity of vibrations to vibe with.
\nAs currently being as one of the most versatile hip-hop acts in Spain, she offers a lot with this release, and her lyical abilities are not something to be questioned. It may be a really personal album that doesn’t feature many HC bangers, but message-wise the album is all that.<\/p>\n
