{"id":195745,"date":"2024-04-14T00:40:30","date_gmt":"2024-04-13T22:40:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blackouthiphop.com\/blog\/?p=195745"},"modified":"2024-04-14T00:41:57","modified_gmt":"2024-04-13T22:41:57","slug":"rico-wade-of-organized-noize-has-passed-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blackouthiphop.com\/blog\/rico-wade-of-organized-noize-has-passed-away\/","title":{"rendered":"Rico Wade of Organized Noize Has Passed Away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hip-Hop has unfortunately lost another iconic figure this week.<strong> Rico Wade<\/strong>, one third of the legendary Atlanta production trio <strong>Organized Noize<\/strong>, and founding member of the <strong>Dungeon Family<\/strong> has passed away at the age of 52.<\/p>\n<p>Organized Noize were monumental for the development of Southern Hip-Hop, shaping its sound through their work with <strong>Outkast<\/strong>,<strong> Goodie Mob<\/strong>, and the Dungeon Family collective. Dungeon Family was formed of pioneering emcees and producers, including the members of the aforementioned Outkast and Goodie Mob, as well as <strong>Janelle Mon\u00e1e<\/strong>, <strong>Killer Mike<\/strong>, <strong>Future<\/strong> (Who is Rico Wade&#8217;s cousin) and many more.<\/p>\n<p>The production style of Organized Noize differentiated from the norm with its rare use of sampling, instead relying on playing instruments. Other than countless Southern Hip-Hop classics, the trio has also produced R&#8217;n&#8217;B songs, including <strong>TLC&#8217;s<\/strong> 1995 smash hit, \u201cWaterfalls\u201c. Rico Wade was undoubtedly not only a person who did a lot for the Hip-Hop culture, he was a person who had a big part in defining it.<\/p>\n<p>May he rest in peace.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Rare 1995 footage of Rico Wade and Outkast in The Dungeon, on &#8220;Yo!
