Yet another unfortunate passing that has struck Hip-Hop in a short time span.<\/p>\n
DJ, producer and beat digger, Paul Nice<\/strong> has passed away, aged 56. DJ Paul Nice started his career in the early 80’s as a local DJ in Poughkeepsie, NY, and later went on to collaborate with some of Hip Hop’s biggest names. He released the classic Beats Anonymous Volume One\u00a0<\/em> in 1996, with the infamous \u201cFist Of The White Lotus\u201c instrumental, which had countless rap legends freestyling over it.<\/p>\n The long list of Paul Nice’s collaborators includes Biz Markie<\/strong>, Beastie Boys<\/strong>, Talib Kweli<\/strong>, Black Thought<\/strong>, Ol’ Dirty Bastar<\/strong>d<\/strong>, Lord Finesse<\/strong> and many, many more. As a DJ, he traveled all around the globe, performing in Tokyo, Sydney, London, Paris, as well as in his native U.S.A. His remix of Jay Z’s<\/strong> The Black Album<\/em>\u00a0 was lauded by The New York Times<\/em>, and hailed as a masterpiece.<\/p>\n DJ Paul Nice was also a prominent radio personality, co-hosting the \u201cGrown Man Rap Show\u201c on WRPI<\/em>, alongside DJ Toast<\/strong>. In 2012 he became one half of the duo The Fabreeze Brothers<\/strong>, with Phill Most Chill<\/strong>. Nice was of significance to the Croatian Hip-Hop scene, as he made the introductions which led to Koolade’s<\/strong> multiple collaborations with Masta Ace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Rest in peace, DJ Paul Nice.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
