Ex-Columbia <\/strong>and Def Jam<\/strong> A&R representative Faith Newman<\/strong> shared an unearthed Nas <\/strong>demo labeled Understanding <\/em>to her social media on Monday (3\/27).<\/p>\n

The caption read, “Went through a box of cassettes from my Columbia Records<\/strong> days and found this demo. Nas <\/strong>Understanding <\/em>featuring Biz Markie <\/strong>and AZ<\/strong>. Produced by Large Professor<\/strong>. 1995.”<\/p>\n

The video contained a boombox connected to a speaker with a TDK tape labeled “Understanding” inserted into the portable tape player. The Large Professor<\/strong>-produced track, a simple loop of Mr. Magic<\/em> by Grover Washington Jr. provided the backdrop for Biz <\/strong>and AZ <\/strong>to drop spoken intro’s before Nas <\/strong>attacks the three-and-a-half-minute beat. <\/p>\n
