Congratulations to my man Slaine (La Coka Nostra\/Special Teamz) who’s in the #1 movie out right now, “The Town”! It’s a dope movie about 4 bank robbers set in Charlestown, MA in which Slaine plays one of them. Slaine came through to RIOC on Sunday along with Jaysaun (Special Teamz) to talk about the movie as well as his debut solo album “A World With No Skies” which comes out on Oct. 26th. Listen to the show to hear exclusives off the album as well as the ill session with Slaine & Jaysaun at the end. Nuff respect to Q-Unique, Kool G Rap, Apathy & ILL BILL for calling in too. And shout out to D-Stroy for co-hosting with me as well.<\/p>\n
On a more somber note, Sunday also marked 1 year since Roc Raida passed. I want to send my respects out to the Williams Family and remind everyone to never forget the man Raida was. This years official Raida tribute is being held in LA this weekend courtesy of the World Famous Beat Junkies with performances also by the X-Ecutioners.<\/p>\n
Lastly, we lost another fellow DJ on Sunday. DJ Law held it down on commercial radio (WOWI) in Virginia for almost 20 years. He died of a heart attack. Condolences go out to his family as well.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
