Dark, hazy, honest, eerie, serious, dirty, sad, and kinda disturbing – that’s how Hus Kingpin<\/strong>‘s Portishead<\/strong>-inspired new album Portishus<\/em> flows like. Instrumentally and lyrically it’s not for the faint-hearted, and with the LP fully going by the name ‘long-play’, with its 20 tracks it’s definitely not for those with the lack of time. The album needs to be listened and analyzed several times, as it’s filled with such quality and originality, that at some point it’s gets hard to follow. Imagine, for instance, Vinnie Paz <\/strong>being hard and direct with his Jedi Mind Tricks<\/strong>-styled lyricism over a heavily-distorted, hellish guitar that is creeping on you like there’s no tomorrow, supported by a filthy, hopeless-like background beat from the most remote part of the 90s Bronx. Now add melancholic pianos and endless space vibe to it, and you can picture rest of the album.
\nIt’s genius, it’s intimidating, merciless and mesmerizing – underground to the very core. It can easily be said that Hus<\/strong> has outdone himself. Amazing.<\/p>\n
