A month ago we informed you that the staple of the independent music scene, Fat Beats<\/strong> is celebrating a monumental occasion this summer commemorating their 25th anniversary. While we waited with excitement for the NYC lineup, Fat Beats <\/strong>added a second show in Los Angeles. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a helluva ride for Fat Beats<\/strong>, which has evolved and thrived in a rapidly changing music industry by keeping pace and staying ahead of the curve. After closing their NYC and LA retail stores in 2010, everything shifted for the brand once synonymous with underground hip-hop. Though still representing for the culture, Fat Beats<\/strong> began to put on artists beyond the world of rap through their savvy distribution channels and online store.<\/p>\n

All of this momentum has led to the announcement of two concerts\u2014Sunday, July 14th at Sony Hall in NYC and Saturday, August 10th at The Regent in DTLA. The New York show\u2019s lineup is bursting with living underground rap legends including Vinnie Paz<\/strong> (with Esoteric<\/strong>), Non Phixion, Bahamadia<\/strong>, and The Last Emperor<\/strong>, among others. In LA, concert-goers will be treated to sets from Dilated Peoples, Tha Alkaholiks, Blu & Exile, LA Breakers, Cut Chemist, Nu-Mark, House Shoes & DJ Eclipse<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Fat Beats<\/strong> is also hosting a contest to give away five pairs of tickets to each show, and entering for your chance to win couldn\u2019t be easier. All you have to do is follow their 25th Anniversary Playlist<\/strong><\/a> on Spotify, which includes standout tracks that they\u2019ve released over the years, along with music from all of the artists set to perform at each show.
