For 3 months from October 2nd to December 29th in a new small display, Redbridge Museum<\/strong><\/a> will celebrate the life of rapper and local Woodford boy, Derek B.<\/p>\n

Derek<\/strong> shot to fame in the late 1980s as one of the first black British rappers to make it big in the UK. His biggest hit record was Bad Young Brother<\/em>. Derek<\/strong> died of a heart attack in London on 15 November 2009 at the age of 44.<\/p>\n

On display for the first time will be photographs, albums and music from Derek B<\/strong>‘s life, lent by his family and friends. This includes his Silver Record celebrating 60,000 album sales, on loan from the Black Cultural Archives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
