DJ Ready Red<\/strong>, a founding member of the Geto Boys<\/strong>, has passed away. Willie D<\/strong> reported that the accomplished producer and DJ suffered a fatal heart attack yesterda (August 24). <\/p>\n

DJ Ready Red<\/strong>, born Collins Leysath<\/strong>, was with the group in its 80s debut and stayed with the Rap-A-Lot Records flagship act until the early 1990s. Red<\/strong> provided the sound for Geto Boys<\/strong>‘ Making Trouble<\/em> in 1988, Grip It! On That Other Level<\/em> one year later and The Geto Boys<\/em> in 1990, as well as Willie D<\/strong>‘s debut Controversy<\/em>.<\/p>\n

BlackoutHipHop<\/strong> extends condolences to DJ Ready Red<\/strong>\u2019s family and friends.<\/p>\n
