{"id":105439,"date":"2016-05-04T22:52:44","date_gmt":"2016-05-04T20:52:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blackouthiphop.com\/?p=105439"},"modified":"2016-05-04T22:52:44","modified_gmt":"2016-05-04T20:52:44","slug":"video-dig-of-the-day-breakin-trailer-1984","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blackouthiphop.com\/blog\/video-dig-of-the-day-breakin-trailer-1984\/","title":{"rendered":"Video: Dig Of The Day: Breakin&#8217;  (Trailer &#8211; 1984)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe width=\"100%\" height=\"344\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OtPUI2kxVN8\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>32 years ago today, <em>Breakin&#8217;<\/em> aka <em>Breakdance: The Movie<\/em> or <em>Break Street &#8217;84<\/em> (in some countries) was released in theaters, May 4, 1984 was the date, check out the trailer for the movie above.<\/p>\n<p>A breakdancing-themed comedy-drama film based on a story by <strong>Parker, DeBevoise<\/strong> and <strong>Gerald Scaife<\/strong>, directed by <strong>Joel Silberg<\/strong> and written by <strong>Charles Parker<\/strong> and <strong>Allen DeBevoise<\/strong> . It was inspired by a &#8217;83 German <em>Breakin&#8217; and Enterin&#8217;<\/em> documentary  set in the Los Angeles multi-racial hip hop club, <strong>Radiotron<\/strong>, based out of MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. <\/p>\n<p>Many of the artists and dancers, including <strong>Ice T<\/strong> (who makes his film debut as a club MC) and <strong>Boogaloo Shrimp<\/strong>, went straight from <em>Breakin&#8217; and Enterin&#8217;<\/em> to star in <em>Breakin&#8217;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The soundtrack of the film was released by <strong>Polydor Records<\/strong> in 1984.
