\u201c30th Anniversary Tour\u201d is the name of the gathering tour of Nice & Smooth. The first show is scheduled for 7th of May at The Shaskeen in Manchester, New Hampshire. The first leg of the tour will feature Greg Nice and Smooth Bee. We can call this the first significant tour in more than a decade.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it was much needed,\u201d Greg Nice says during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. “I think there were a lot of cats that got a chance to hear the music but didn\u2019t get a chance to attend the venues [when we were first coming out in the mid-1980s]. Some of them might not have been out and about like that. Some of them might have been too young to get in the club, so it\u2019s a chance for them to see some of this stuff. We\u2019re definitely gonna give it to them like they\u2019ve never seen it before.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely official coming together at this time because we can touch certain people that we haven\u2019t got the opportunity to perform for,\u201d Smooth Bee adds. “It\u2019s just a good time for it with the resurgence of everything in Hip Hop. I think it\u2019s needed.\u201d<\/p>\n

As they are preparing for the tour, they look back on the formative years of what would become the rap music industry. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been doing what we\u2019ve been doing since we\u2019ve been kids and that was a time and era that was sort of the beginning of this sort of music,\u201d Greg Nice says. “So just like any other music that might have been around 60, 70 years now, we\u2019re following in the same footsteps. It\u2019s becoming that type of music. You\u2019ve got people that\u2019s grown up to us that knew those songs when they were out in the club, out and about in college. At the same time, you\u2019ve got different stations that\u2019s playing music today that are what you wanna call \u2018classic retro Hip Hop,\u2019 so that\u2019s making it better.\u201d<\/p>\n
