32 years after Marvin Gaye\u2019s tragic passing death, we shed a tear and celebrate his life with this refreshing tribute, just in time for what would have been The Prince of Soul\u2019s 77th birthday.<\/p>\n

Counterweight Records’ DJ Devastate and synth guru, Segerfalk recently made the trip to Analog Sweden\u2019s studio, to breathe new life into Marvin\u2019s time honored classic, “Heard It Through The Grapevine.\u201d The concept of classic meets contemporary is magnified with verses contributed by emcees Joe Lefty and Chapee, the latter of which who recently dropped his debut solo LP, Mode7ty, produced by Tommy Black, who’s sounds you may already be familiar with on \u201cInstitutionallized, off Kendrick Lamar\u2019s To Pimp A Butterfly LP.<\/p>\n

Independent label Counterweight Records has lots more in store for 2016. This spring you\u2019ll hear more from Chapee, along with beatsmith Max I Million, and his anticipated mixtape sequel, The Maxtape 2.
