Vince Staples Westwood freestyle over “Get ’em High”
Rappers have tried their hand at rhyming over Kanye West’s classic College Dropout cut “Get ’em High” for a minute now (over a decade). Some failed, some succeeded. Tasked by Tim Westwood with supplying the beat a steady stream of grade-A lines, Vince Staples delivered. He rarely stumbled and reliably flexed his technical chops atop the bass-boosted instrumental.
“Murder, murder my momma told me I wasn’t shit / hundred guns, a hundred clips, traffic by the government.”
Watch a clip of the freestyle above—whether it was a written or truly instantaneous fire, the Long Beach rapper still did his thing. This freestyle appears to be Staples’ first on Westwood’s program.
