Video: Thundercat – Them Changes

Thundercat, well known for his collaboration with Kendrick Lamar in the role of a producer and instrumentalist for To Pimp A Butterfly, is releasing new solo material. Check out his new music video for Them Changes, a beautiful self produced track from his most recent mini-album The Beyond / Where the Giants Roam. Many Hip Hop heads will recognize the Isley Brothers drum break at the start of the song, we all know from J Dilla’s Won’t Do and many more tracks, yet Thundercat puts a thick bass groove under it, accompanied by minimalist melodic and harmony over it. The singing is silky and the song continues to open and progress, making this a fine gem for the soul-loving Hip Hop listener. Video’s pretty awesome, not to forget. Have a look, have a listen!
