Video: Lord Finesse interview with Cake & Society

There are many things can be said about a guy like Lord Finesse. He’s a legend in his own right; a well-known name in the hip hop world; a true Pioneer. The man has been a great contribution to Hip Hop music. He’s a rapper~ a producer~ a mentor~ a crates digger~ and an all around inspiration to the art.

In 1989, Finesse and his former partner DJ Mike Smooth, signed with Wild Pitch Records. In 1990, he and DJ Mike Smooth released their debut album Funky Technician. Later, Finesse formed the popular New York underground crew D.I.T.C., an acronym for “Diggin In The Crates,” together with Showbiz~ AG~ and Diamond D. Members included Fat Joe, O.C., Buckwild, and Big L.

Lord Finesse is known for several productions and projects. He has worked with the best of the best. His art form is rare, his production is funky, and he’s a good humble and grounded dude.

Cake and Society caught up with “The Funky Man” and got to know him a little better. We love the art, the artist and the creative sound he has out there for us to bob our heads to!
