Video: Gods of the Basement – Iced Tarantulas
Gods of the Basement is a hip-hop group comprised of co-founders Big Zoo and Prolific Wone, two highly respected and admired MCs in New York City’s underground hip-hop scene. For over two decades, they have been honing their craft as MCs and building a community of some of the best MCs in the world through their weekly open-mic and global hip-hop brand, End of the Weak.
Their new self-titled album, Gods of the Basement, showcases their exceptional talent and dedication, featuring 14 tracks with contributions from international and local luminaries such as NEMS, Poison Pen, and Swave Sevah. Standout tracks include “I Know” and “The Spirit,” which showcase the group’s versatility and songwriting skills. The album also includes “Automatic,” a posthumous tribute to their fellow End of the Weak co-founder, Vice Verses, who passed away in 2020.
Inspired by The Chef Raekwon’s prized cuban link, “Iced Tarantulas” is a fierce exhibition of lyrical swordplay over Neet Scotch’s addictive mind-bending production. Also, on deck is the short but deadly, “Grizzly” another onslaught of mic weaponry over high octane production.
