Video: Dig Of The Day: Kool G Rap and DJ Polo – Ill Street Blues (1992)
Aw yeah word up, we got that real sh*t from Kool G Rap right here. A track called Ill Street Blues, with a dope beat and effortless rappin’ by Kool G, received consistent airplay on Yo! MTV Raps and BET’s Rap City back in the day.
From 1992 album Live and Let Die, which is also the third and final studio album by Kool G Rap & DJ Polo released on Cold Chillin’ Records.
Over the years, several music critics have hailed it as an underground classic, due to Kool G Rap’s intricate lyricism and Sir Jinx’s production.
I’m not sure why the title Kool G Rap and DJ Polo in case of this track and the whole Live and Let Die album since DJ Polo only did some back vocals on one track from the album. Ill Street Blues is produced by Sir Jinx who contributed his production almost in entirety on Live and Let Die.
Word to mutha.
