Too $hort-Inspired ‘Freaky Tales’ Movie Drops First Trailer
(hiphopdx.com) The Too $hort-narrated film Freaky Tales starring Pedro Pascal, Normani and more has officially released its first trailer.
Inspired by $hort Dog’s 1987 single of the same name, the action-comedy film follows four interconnected stories set in the rapper’s hometown of Oakland in ’87.
As the logline describes, it’s a “multi-track mixtape of colorful characters — an NBA star, a corrupt cop, a female rap duo, teen punks, neo-Nazis and a debt collector — on a collision course in a fever dream of showdowns and battles.”
In addition to Pascal and Normani, Insecure’s Jay Ellis, the late Angus Cloud of Euphoria fame, Black Panther‘s Dominique Thorne and even the legendary Tom Hanks all appear in the MACRO-produced movie, which premiered at Sundance in 2024.
Freaky Tales hits theaters on April 4.
