The Prophets Of Rage
A cryptic website popped up this week that had Rage against the machine fans excited for a possible reunion. Now it seems like not only the RATM is included in this project , but 2 more great hip hop artists are included aswell, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill.
The site (ProphetsOfRage.com) doesn’t give too many clues about what’s actualy happening. There’s a logo type of picture above it and a timer and a hashtag #TakeThePowerBack. A lot of posters of the same type and the website address started poping all around RATM’s hometown of Los Angeles.
It seems through the spill of information that everyone exept Zack de la Rocha is teaming up with Public Enemy frontman Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real to perform songs from all 3 of the great collectives. The debut concert sets time and place at Hollywood Palladium on June 3.

“Prophets of rage” is a track off the Public Enemy’s 1988 album “It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back.”
This indicates a probability of a great political movement in music which is more than needed in this time and the merge of 3 different stylistical standpoints towards the same cause. Rage Against the Machine voice viewpoints are highly critical of the domestic and foreign policies of current and previous US governments.
Throughout its existence, RATM and its individual members participated in political protests and other activism to advocate these beliefs. They reunited for a few years in the late 2000s, but haven’t released new music together since the turn of the millennium and haven’t performed together since 2011. Chuck D has collaborated with the group before, taking the stage for a performance of “Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos” at the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands in 1996.
