The Bridge Podcast by Nas and Miss Info

Today is a great day for Kool Herc’s culture. Today, Nas and the legendary hip-hop journalist Miss Info started a brand new Spotify exclusive podcast “The Bridge” that takes us on a time-travelling journey detailing 50 Years of Hip-Hop.

Since Nas arrival back in 1991, on the Main SourceLive at the BBQ, with the best guest verse ever (yep, I said what I said), Nas always appreciated the culture and took it to the next level. When J Cole said “Nas wrote the Bible.” he was right because his monumental 1st album Illmatic was and still is The Hip-Hop Bible and also got the 5 Mics in The Source which was a big deal back in the day. Fast forward to 2021. Amongst so many ventures, Nas released King’s Disease II, probably the best album of the year next to his comrade AZDoe or Die 2 album.

Talking about the 5 mics in the Source, the journalist who gave them to Illmatic was Minya Oh aka Shortie. You are reading this article and right about now you are asking yourself why am I talking about her. Well, she was formerly known as Shortie. For years now the world knows her as the iconic hip-hop journalist and former HOT-97 personality Miss Info. She also worked with Complex, BET…. Overall, when you talk about Miss Info you can’t say anything less than she is Hip-Hop.

So, when you have Nas and Miss Info, The Bridge podcast sounds like a win-win for the culture. The podcast premiered today with new episodes released weekly, exclusively on Spotify. So, If you don’t use Spotify I suggest you open an account because you don’t want to miss this.

The Bridge features candid discussions with an assortment of special guests, including artists and other industry figures who are integral to the half-century-long story.

The first 3 episodes are out but of course, I suggest you start with the 1st episode which I don’t wanna talk much about. I will just let you all listen and enjoy but I will tell you what can we expect from the podcast. Ok. I want to tell you anything. I will quote Miss Info and Nas.

There’s nothing more fulfilling and, honestly, more fun than being able to ride shotgun with Nas on this journey, Of course, “The Bridge” brings our paths full circle as friends and colleagues, but the most special thing about this podcast are the conversations that listeners will get to sit in on. Our guests open up to Nas and I, about the way they approach life, the way they reconcile their pasts, and in many cases, the shared history between Nas and these fellow artists. We’re having a blast and I think it shows.
