I was brought in as a music/DJ/equipment consultant on HBO’s Vinyl. Historical authenticity was important to the show’s executive producers Scorcese and Jagger. In my opinion, most movies/TV shows that touch on Hip-Hop usually fail so I was more than happy to help them get it right. I hope we did.

Here’s a little behind the scenes mini-doc about this aspect of the series. I was NOT expecting to be on camera that day, and don’t remember if I said anything worthwhile.
