She Raps – Live Performance in Portugal

On October 11th, at the newly inaugurated Casa Capitão, during the MIL – Lisbon International Music Network festival, the 10 rappers from the She Raps project took to the stage, following previous showcases in Zagreb, Liège, and Paris. In addition to their original compositions, they performed “We Kno”, the multilingual track recorded during their summer residency in Croatia, which also provides the soundtrack to this video.

These are 10 artists with distinct voices, original rhymes, and life stories that cross borders. They represent France, Belgium, Portugal, and the Balkans, and were selected from over 400 applicants, having gone through an intensive 18-month program of artistic and professional development.

Following the artistic residency in Croatia in February and performances at Le Reflektor (Liège) and Les Ardentes Festival in June, the group was in Paris last week, where they performed at Université Paris 8 and took part in a series of intensive workshops — a unique opportunity for career development and to connect with French audiences. The three Portuguese finalists are Tsuki, Vanessa Parish Crooks, and Máry M. From France: Yend, 2L, Yelsha. From Belgium: Kari Bee and Raivy. From Slovenia: Sahareya. From Montenegro: Eli Džejn. On stage, they were joined by DJ Essie.
