She Raps – Preliminary Study (Practices, Training Programs & Professional Ecosystem)
This study focuses on the female practice of rap music as well as training programs and professional ecosystems in Europe. It focuses on the four partner countries of the study, with an expansion to the Balkan countries, and brings together the following organizations: Rafe Productions (France), Skoola (Portugal), Blackout Hip Hop (Croatia) and Les Ardentes (Belgium). Coordinated by Rafe Productions, scientifically coordinated by a teacher-researcher in Information and Communication Sciences at the University of Paris 8, specialized in the music and rap industry, and produced in collaboration with ALBA International, an agency specialized in raising, management and training projects on European funds for the cultural industries sectors. The study is based on fifteen semi directive interviews carried out with a set of players in the music industry in Europe, including eight French and Portuguese, Croatian, Serbian and Slovenian rappers, and industry or media professionals. The results are detailed and analyzed in the pdf file below.
