Scoop DeVille – Summer Cocktail (FreEP)
Before L.A.’s Scoop DeVille serves up his debut album Tides later this year, the Grammy nominated producer decided to keep things extra warm on a new beat tape/EP appropriately titled Summer Cocktail.
Connecting with multi-media artist Michael Sterling Eaton, the two form the duo known affectionately as Watercolor Werewolf. Their 7-track project is an amalgamation of genres – including punk, pop, dance and rock – mashed up together, making for some interesting sounds. This is proven on the EP’s intro track, WolfBlitzBop which, backed by some electro sounds, samples the Ramones‘ punk classic Blitzkrieg Bop or an interesting, eclectic flip of the Beach Boys‘ I Get Around.
