Samy Deluxe x Conductor Williams – Der verlorene Reim

Some artists lose their touch as time passes, fall down, or simply abandon the rap game for various reasons. Some heroes stay long enough only to become villains, while some become all-time legends and never stop droppin’ bangers. Even after the golden era of German hip-hop, Samy Deluxe never backed down and kept providing us with the pure essence of hip-hop.

Recently, the Hamburg-born MC teamed up with a Griselda collective member, a producer by the name of Conductor Williams, and dropped a dope and uplifting track called “Damn Conductor”, announcing a joint album between these two music heavyweights. Now it’s followed by another single, “Der verlorene Reim”, although without a supporting music video, but it still bangs a lot, even though it provides a somewhat darker atmosphere. All in all, these two singles show what the upcoming album will provide, going from funky to grimy, all with dope rhymes and quality instrumentals.

Since the very start of the new millennium when Samy took the scene over in a blitz, there aren’t many artists he didn’t work with, creating a strong legacy and respect worldwide. However, the upcoming project, simply dubbed “SAMY x CONDUCTOR”, had a slightly different creative foundation than his other projects. In other words, by avoiding labels and all the bureaucracy that comes with it, Samy went about collecting artists for the new project by contacting them directly on social media, surrounding himself with artists that he knew would support the approach of making real hip-hop. No gimmicks, just the pure essence of the rap game, built from the ground up within a year.
