Re:tro flava │ 2025 Hip-Hop Selection

2025 was a fantastic year with many phenomenal releases from all around the globe. I managed to cover some with thorough reviews on Blackout HipHop; for others, I didn’t have enough spare time, but they got a lot of replays throughout the year and earned their spot here.

Some of my favorite standouts ended up on this playlist, but since I can’t choose every single track that got my head nodding, with almost every new entry, the playlist received an update for a more swift listening experience. Of course, it would be crazy to even think you can catch all the releases as the whole world provides tons of quality hip-hop, so this one features tracks I dug from both familiar and newly discovered lyricists and beatmakers. This is strictly based on the choons I rocked and chilled with the most this year within the styles I enjoy.

Just like with the 2024 edition, the “2025 Hip-Hop Selection” playlist is made to be listened to as an album, or better yet, as a DJ set, from start to finish, with various sections that mark different sub-genres, moods, and tempos, so there’s something for almost everybody.

The artists featured here are hailing from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Poland, UK, Spain, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Latvia, Russia, Greece, USA…and then some. Shout out to all of you’s that are keeping the game alive and real. I salute you. This playlist is for all of y’all.
