Potatohead People & Slippery Elm – Nightbird

The first release on their new label, Mysterybox Records, “Nightbird” is the first single off of “Emerald Tablet,” the upcoming album by Potatohead People & Slippery Elm. Brooding, nocturnal, and enigmatic, “Nightbird” explores the interplay between fate and free will. Soulful chords played on a Fender Rhodes provide the centrepiece to a musical arrangement that is lush and ornate, driven by pulsing drums, and bejewelled with violin flourishes. Over this garden of sound, Slippery Elm and Kendra Dias perform haunting vocals, with Slippery Elm’s lyrics touching upon themes of loneliness, regret and mystical rapture.

“Emeral Tablet” is due for release on July 11th.
