In the ’90s, Diamond D was called the best rapper among producers and the best producer among rappers. He won a Grammy for his production on the Fugees’ “The Score,” and has also collaborated over the years with artists like Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes. His music has sold tens of millions of copies, yet he has remained mentally close to his roots, maintaining the respect of both the industry, artists, and listeners.

Diamond returned to Poland after 15 years to play a special DJ set featuring 7-inch vinyl at Krakow’s Paul’s Boutique Record Store. Just before the show, PopkillerTV Plus managed to sit down with him for a quick chat. They reminisced about first meeting and exploring… Warsaw’s vinyl stores. They also talked about his 40 years in the hip-hop scene, his unwavering creative drive, his DJ tour, and the chances of the entire D.I.T.C. band returning with a new album or touring together.
