Nejma Nefertiti – Beaujolais
The first time I heard about Nejma was through her collaboration with one of Serbia’s and the Balkans’ best MCs, Smoke Mardeljano. She was featured on the second track, “Nunčake stajl,” on his album “Neka teče.”
After a while, Smoke hosted a two-day hip hop festival called “Beton 2” in Belgrade, Serbia, with a great lineup that included the headliner, the one and only Kool G Rap (who, by the way, also had a feature on the same album).
Nejma Nefertiti was also part of the festival’s first-day lineup, and her brand new video, “Beaujolais,” was shot in the streets of Belgrade — Skadarlija Street and Kalemegdan Fortress. The video begins with Nejma saying, “Dobro veče, Beograde!” (“Good evening, Belgrade!”) to the crowd at the Beton 2 festival.
The track was produced by LuckCharmBeats, and the video was shot and directed by Kenglomerate and Nejma herself. The video also features Smoke Mardeljano.
