MC Conrad, a Renowned Drum’n’bass Artist, Dies Aged 52
Conrad Thompson, a British drum’n’bass pioneer known by his alias MC Conrad, has died by unknown circumstances at the age of 52. This was confirmed today by his agency Clinic Talent, and also paying their respect to the deceased artist:
“One of the most recognizable and best-loved voices in D&B, he leaves behind him an unmatched legacy.”
MC Conrad, who initially started as a hip-hop MC, found his calling in the rave scene in the 90s which eventually led him to become one of the most famous MC’s in the drum’n’bass and jungle world. Mostly known by his work with the DNB legend LTJ Bukem, Conrad was widely recognized by his astonishing rapping technique, uplifting energy, and beautiful singing ability. His unique style had a great influence on further improving the fresh scene of drum’n’bass 30 years ago, and made a strong foundation for many DNB MC’s to come.
The whole bass scene was utterly shocked by this event, and many of his colleagues paid their tributes on various social media.
