Mad Skillz Wins his First Grammy!

It was an eventful night at the Grammy Awards for Hip-Hop artists. Kendrick Lamar was the night’s biggest winner, taking home five awards, including ‘Best Rap Album’ for “GNX” and ‘Record of the Year’ for “Luther.” Renowned Virginia artist Mad Skillz won his first Grammy Award this year! He earned the ‘Best Spoken Word Poetry Album’ with “Words For Days, Volume 1.” It’s an album which encompasses a song for every day of the week, and features more than a dozen Richmond-area musicians and producers. Clipse and Doechii also took home an award, in the categories for ‘Best Rap Performance’ and ‘Best Music Video’, respectively.
