Koolade – Lovers’ Lane (Album Stream)

“This one is for the lovers” – that’s the introductory text and that’s exactly what I’m starting with. The busy bee Koolade is always cooking something, always on top o’ things, and frankly, we can’t get enough of it. When going solo, his style goes extremely soulful and sensual, ranging from G-funk and them funky jams to downed tempos of jazzy raps, lo-fi’s, and R&B.
This release is no exception, but what makes the main difference is the extra amount of sensuality in the groove. And the smoothness of it – oof! Barry White style.

Koolade really knows how to spice it up, and while usually he has little to no featured artists, on this project, there are more than a few. Here we can hear the Croatian jazz pianist Matija Dedić playing keys on two tracks, the Serbian producer Vuk playing a guitar one track, with Bro on the other. There’s also Ma’Chill, and to my surprise, actual vocalists – Monika Almaši and Terron Austin bringing diversity in the instrumental-led album, and in the same time adding a new dimension to the tracks they’re featured on.

A really smooth, beautifully composed, and well-produced 11-track-long project for a long lovers’ walk, or, as the old saying goes – people be making babies to jams like these.

As usual, the whole album is available for listening on YouTube and also on Koolade’s Bandcamp for purchasing.
