Killah Priest – Abraxas 2 (Album Stream)

One of Wu’s most notable affiliates, Killah Priest, mostly known for being a part of groups such as Sunz Of Man and The HRSMN, comes back with a new dope project dubbed “Abraxas 2”.
Those who adore the earlier sound of Wu-Tang and their family members, like Gravediggaz or Killarmy, but also new underground bangers, will find this album really interesting as it draws a fine line between the two styles. The Brooklyn MC didn’t get stuck in time, but didn’t forget the foundation from which he came, and so we got a marvelous blend that provides nothing but pleasure while listening. Killah Priest, in all of his lyrical might that gave him a big spotlight in an ocean of dope MCs, didn’t back down a bit and went fully poetical with the lyrics, taking you on a spiritual journey to elevate the mind.
Some say it’s one of his best works yet, and they’re not far from the truth. The sequel to the acclaimed “Abraxas Rebis Simha Pleroma” album from last year continues to follow the path of profound storytelling, deep themes, and astuteness in switching between the hood and the godly, rendering the artist true to his style. Even though the album doesn’t provide anything groundbreaking in terms of innovation, it’s still a fact that many people turned a blind eye to Killah Priest, as his technique was and still is one of the most prolific when compared to most of the Wu fam. Even though his shine was mostly recognized when working in groups, his solo work shouldn’t be neglected, as albums like this one give out a lot. In other words, this album is not a departure in experimenting with other styles but showcasing his well-established style of esoteric raps.
As same as on the previous album, instrumentally “Abraxas 2” is fully supported by the producer Purpose of the Tragic Allies group, coming up with phenomenal ideas for beats to further enhance the abstract atmosphere Killah Priest dropped on the mic. Since Purpose was highly praised for his work on in 2024, it was logical he would be the first choice to furnish the new project with compatible sonic background. And it works like a charm yet again.
