Jemini the Gifted One has Passed Away

New York emcee, Jemini the Gifted One, has unfortunately passed away. Hailing from Brooklyn, Jemini released his debut project, “Scars And Pain,” in 1995. It was produced by the likes of Organized Noise and Buckwild of D.I.T.C., as well as Jemini himself. It brought us songs like “Funk Soul Sensation,” and “Brooklyn Kids.” The EP was originally distributed exclusively as a promotional vinyl release, through Mercury Records. Blackout’s Phat Phillie has organized a re-release of “Scars And Pain” in 2023, on the HHV Records subsidiary, 90’s Tapes. The classic EP was published on limited edition vinyl, CD, and cassette, as well as digitally.
In 2003, Jemini made waves with “Ghetto Pop Life,” his collaborative album with the renowned producer, Danger Mouse. The full-length project features appearances by Tha Liks, Pharcyde, J-Zone, and Prince Po. The sequel to “Ghetto Pop Life,” titled “Born Again,” was released on August 25th, 2023, a few days before the 20th anniversary of the original release. During the mid 2010’s, Jemini changed his name to Big Town IHP, and has continued to be active under that moniker.
Blackout Hip-Hop offers condolences to Jemini’s friends and family.
May he rest in peace.
